When you need to move a machine who do you think of first? Riggers? Well, how about the company that helps to take care of your equipment. They have helped with your electrical and electronic issues. They have helped with your mechanical repairs from hydraulic systems to replacing ball screws to reconditioning spindles. They have helped with your software and programming issues. They have even helped make your machines run more efficient so you could make a higher profit. REA Technologies has helped you with all this, then why not with your machinery move. Whether it is a new piece of equipment being moved in, relocating an existing piece within your building or a move completely out of your facility, we can help you accomplish it. Who would be better to help disassemble and then to reassemble than a company that has first hand knowledge about your equipment. The technicians at REA have been involved with all forms of equipment for over 20 years, including moves. We know what it takes to get that machine back into production as quickly as possible.
Just last week we quoted on moving a piece of woodworking equipment from its location in Wisconsin to a new home in New Zealand. This would require disassembling the equipment and preparing it for an ocean container; making sure it would be safe for the trip half way around the world. It would also require our technicians to unload the container and reassemble the equipment and to verify that it is in complete operational order. Because of our extensive knowledge of this particular piece of equipment, REA was the ideal company to help make this possible.
The next time you need to relocate that piece of equipment, don't just think of riggers, but think of REA Technologies. We can make the entire experience pleasant and beneficial.

The Importance of Proper Packaging When Shipping CRT Monitors
I received an older CRT monitor for a Holzma angular saw this morning from a new customer in Alabama. They are quite lucky that it arrived with no broken glass. The unit was not packaged very well. One has to understand that often times boxes are drop-kicked or punted to their destination. It is the shippers' ultimate responsibility to make sure that the item(s) is adequately protected during shipping.
When packaging CRT monitors I always wrap them in bubble wrap. After this is done I then will cut out a piece of cardboard and tape it over the face. I often double layer the box it is going in as well. This takes a little extra time but is worth it. Replacing a damaged CRT can get very costly if you can even find one. Often they can be replaced by newer LCD's that are not cheap.
Here at REA the utmost care is taken when returning a repaired item to a customer, be it a monitor, a pcb, a motor, etc. I have been responsible for shipping and receiving here for the past 8 years or so. I can proudly say that I can count the damaged items I have personally packaged and shipped on one hand. A lot of care and attention is given by me to ensure that the customer receives their repaired item back in one piece.
So as you can see, the job is not over when the repair is done. The item has to make it back to the customer intact and functioning. When shipping your repair to us you can be assured that it will be treated as if it were my own.
REA can take care of all types of monitors/lcds. The next time you need one repaired just let us know. You can rest easy that you won't get back a pile of glass!!!

Does weather effect your equipment
Do storms and adverse weather conditions have an effect on you equipment? How about starting up all of your equipment once you have lost power?
If you are a manufacturer you will be effected by adverse weather conditions in one form or another. It can also cause problems with your equipment. It could be that you lost power from a snow or ice storm or being shut down by a lightning strike. Either way you will have to get your CNC equipment back on line.
Call REA Technologies, we can help. With over 20 years of CNC machinery repair experience we can get that equipment back on-line in a timely manner. In early February when a winter storm swept through the mid west and left 1000's of homes and businesses without power for extended periods of time, REA was called to help a customer in Arkansas get his plant back up and operational. As soon as the electric company had restored their power, REA was on site to begin working on the equipment. In a short period of time, this customer was back up and full operational.
REA is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. We are always here to help with you emergencies. No job is too big or too small. Give us a call!

Saw upgrade
Completing machine upgrades is always a rewarding experience because the customers, especially the machine operators, are so excited about seeing aggravating machine problems become a thing of the past. This was the case last week when we went in on Friday morning and modified a North Tech cross cut saw that had previously been upgraded with a Tiger Stop positioning system. That evening the operator came in to test the newly modified system and was delighted that we had addressed every issue that plagued him on a daily basis. Modifications such as this, not only improve productivity, but also the morale of the people running the machines. Added to the productivity problems was the potential of damaging a $15,000.00 diamond tipped saw blade.
In this case, it was a simple matter of removing devices that are not only superfluous, but prone to failure, and installing a small PLC to control a few inputs and outputs. The result is always an electric panel that is less cluttered and therefore easier to troubleshoot in the future. Some first time customers panic when we go in and rip out all of the unnecessary, problem causing devices, but are always delighted with the results. These upgrades usually pay for themselves very rapidly with the increase in production that was gained by eliminating the downtime caused by these problematic components. Another benefit is that you eliminate keeping these, often very costly items, in the stock room.
